Why Consistency is the Key to Success Blog
“Success is the sum of small efforts repeated day in and day out” – Robert Collier
I want you to ask yourself a question. Do you do something every day that takes you closer to your goals?
When coaching people, I find it really interesting that when I ask them this question, how many people are not being consistent in working towards their goals. A lot of the time, they feel like their wheels are spinning but they are not getting anywhere. Does this feel like you?
When studying the habits of successful people, the one thing that really jumps out to me are these 2 things:
1) They know exactly where they are going.
2) They work on getting there every day.
It is amazing how many successful people started off their life in disadvantaged circumstances. But they did not let that define how they were. Instead, they made the conscious decision to aim for something a lot higher and took steps each day to get there. It reminds me of the world greatest ever basketballer, Michael Jordan and how he was kicked off his high school basketball team. He did not let that define him. Instead he used it as a motivator to train each and every day, longer than any of his team mates to reach the goals he set.
I want to let you in on a little secret – the only time you fail is when you give up. So if you keep being consistent, doing what is necessary, you will reach your goals.
