Why Success Loves Speed

What do successful business people, famous sports people and award winning movie actors all have in common?

They are action takers.  They don’t procrastinate.  They simply just go for it.

This is why success loves speed.

Think about it?

Imagine you are in a room of 100 people and you ask for them to raise their if they want to be successful.  I bet the majority of people in that room will raise their hands.  What I can also guarantee is that only a handful of people from that room will leave and go and do something straight away to help get move towards their goals.

Have you heard the saying “Paralyse by Analysis”? This refer to a person who spends far too long analysing all the potential risks but is actually fearful to take the leap and begin.  This is what the majority of the population does.  I know when I talk to some of my coaching clients about starting a new business idea, they tell me that want everything to be exactly right first. The problem is that everything will not always be right.  Sometimes you just have to dive in.

Now don’t get me wrong, I am a big believer of making plans.  What I am saying is don’t spend all your time planning and not implementing.

I know from personal experience, some of my most successful business ideas have been something I thought up over the weekend and started to implement on the Monday.  Yes, I could spend a whole lot of time evaluating whether I should do something or not but I have found that by taking action, my positives far out-weigh the negatives.

Another one of my examples of money liking speed is my decision to do a coaching program.  I remember about a year ago I was thinking about purchasing a coaching program.  I wanted to purchase it and in the past, I had seen this type of coaching come up but had always spent too long deciding on whether I was going to do the course or not, and then let time get away from me.  Well, this time I jumped in and just went for it.  And do you know what, by taking action, I was able to take the things I learnt in that course and make thousands and thousands of dollars in a few short months.

Imagine what I would have missed out on if I taken my time, as I had in the past.  This for me was really when the penny dropped.

It is all about taking action.  It is about having a sense of urgency.

We all have a limited amount of time to achieve our goals.

I know I don’t want to look back in 12 months time and wish I had taken action on something a year ago.
